Guarding and proclaiming the unchanging truth in a changing world

Advent Reflections

12th December 2021

During the Four Sundays of Advent, Gafcon will be posting short reflections based on a verse from the Bible to celebrate this season which is so significant for all of us who confess our faith in Christ Jesus. Follow us and share these messages in your churches.

Luke 1: 13. But the angel said to him: "Do not be afraid, Zechariah; your prayer has been heard. Your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you are to call him John.

John the Baptist was born with the mission to prepare the way for the coming Messiah.
Jesus came and today we too have a mission: to proclaim Christ faithfully to the nations until his return.
This is Jesus’ great commission to his followers!
At this time of year when we celebrate the birth of Jesus, and look forward to his second coming, may we take every opportunity to proclaim him to all people!
How good it is to belong to the family of Christ.! And how wonderful it is to be able to share the good news of our Lord!

Pray with us:
Holy Father, we praise you because you prepared the way for your Son, our saviour, to come into the world! Help us to proclaim Christ faithfully to all who cross our path, for the glory of your name. Amen.
