The Anglican Network in Europe (ANiE)
Gafcon’s mission to gather and unite faithful Anglicans took an historic step forward on 8th December 2020 as the Primates Council approved the launch of the Anglican Network in Europe (ANiE) following intensive work in recent months, supported by the Gafcon Lawyers Task Force network, to generate a Constitutions and Canons.
With its two Convocations (similar in structure to dioceses) of the Anglican Mission in England (AMiE) and the Anglican Convocation in Europe (ACE), this new organisation provides an authentic expression of Anglican ministry and mission for a growing number of faithful Anglicans who are no longer able to continue in good conscience under spiritual leadership which is prepared to dilute and even falsify the gospel to accommodate with secular ideologies.
ANiE, which is distinct from other national churches and approved by the Gafcon Primates Council, is fully recognised as being within the Anglican Communion and more than 50 million Anglicans worldwide. It has a strong commitment to pioneering and establishing new churches and is a positive response to a deep seated spiritual crisis. It provides a strong foundation for the great task of the re-evangelisation of nations which were once centres of global mission but have now lost the gospel.
Archbishop Foley Beach, Chairman of the Gafcon Primates Council has said,
“Anglicans in Europe need a network that is faithful to the Bible, focused on reaching the lost, and distinctly Anglican. Over ten years ago, when Gafcon enabled Anglicans in North America to come together for the good of the Gospel, I was one of them. Now, I am honoured to serve as the Chairman of the Gafcon Primates Council and provide for others what was provided for me: a spiritual home within Anglicanism and a base for mission. Please join me in prayer and support for the Anglican Network in Europe as they seek to proclaim Christ faithfully to the nations!”
