Moment

The Church of Nigeria is one of 11 Gafcon Provinces. The past two weeks have seen serious national unrest and protest, primarily about police brutality but also because of political thuggery, unemployment, and decay in health and educational infrastructures. The Primate of Nigeria, The Most Rev’d Henry Ndukuba, has issued a statement in which the Church of Nigeria expresses solidarity with the #endsars protest and the young people seeking justice for the widespread abuse of power.

Prayer

Lord of the nations, touch the hearts of Nigerian government leaders to feel the pulse of the people in their demand for justice and good governance. Raise up people to pray within and without Nigeria. May the government and protesters alike seek non-violent solutions. We ask for those living in uncertainty and fear that they may seek the Lord and be able to say:

Surely this is our God, we trusted him and he saved us. (Isaiah 25:9)

Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer. Amen.

Global Anglicans Moment & Prayer is an initiative for churches around the world so that each week they are kept up to date with news and a prayer item. Please share these in your church's bulletins and media announcements: https://www.gafcon.org/moment-and-prayer

Throughout Gafcon churches worldwide we are looking to build up the faithful global Communion by sharing these bulletin updates in Gafcon churches' media announcements. We are seeking to have a Gafcon representative or advocate in each church who will be our point of contact for the Moment & Prayer items. If you are a church staff member and/or an active church member who is using the Moment & Prayer news then we would love to connect with you and email the weekly updates to you. Follow the updates on social media with the hashtag #globalmomentandprayer

Please email [email protected] if you would like to find out more and be added to the group of Gafcon Church Representatives/Advocates.

We pray this is an encouragement to you.
