Lent Reflections

During the Lent Season, Gafcon will be posting short weekly reflections based on a verse from the Bible, to lift our hearts, to develop our faith and to reflect on all that this season means to us. Follow us and share these messages in your churches.
Then Mary took about a pint of pure nard, an expensive perfume; she poured it on Jesus' feet and wiped his feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume.
John 12:3
The gospel appears to be crazy. How challenging it is to understand that we need to die in order to live; that when we humble ourselves, so we are exalted; that a mustard seed would be the target for the size of our faith; that God chooses those who are weak to shame the strong;that it is more blessed to give than to receive! Mary understood the logic of the kingdom and chose to give everything to Jesus. The truth is that total surrender offends partial surrender. May we surrender to God everything we have and everything we are, to glorify His name and spread the good perfume of Christ.
Pray with us:
Beloved Father, I ask you that my surrender to you be unreserved. I want to experience what it is like to feel completely surrendered and dependent on you, so that I can be filled with the one who comes from you. In Jesus' name. Amen!
