But we had to celebrate and be glad, because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found. 
Luke15:32 

Sometimes we act as the brother of the prodigal son: with self-righteousness and pride about the good works we do.  
We celebrate the lost sheep being found if it follows a set of rules that we have established by ourselves.  
But we cannot forget that every good gift comes exclusively from the Lord. We cannot choose to whom God will bestow grace and favour. We should rejoice for a prodigal son who receives  the Father’s gifts and for the lost sheep who is found.

Gracious Father, let me not forget that every good gift comes from you alone. Make my heart grateful for all the gifts you bestow not only on me but on all my brothers and sisters in the faith. . In Jesus' name, Amen!
