Guarding and proclaiming the unchanging truth in a changing world

Lent Reflections

16th March 2022

During the Lent Season, Gafcon will be posting short weekly reflections based on a verse from the Bible, to lift our hearts, to develop our faith and to reflect on all that this season means to us. Follow us and share these messages in your churches.

Because of the crowd he told his disciples to have a small boat ready for him, to keep the people from crowding him.
For he had healed many, so that those with diseases were pushing forward to touch him.
Mark 3:9-10

How many times do we come to God praying for a specific request? There is no harm in that, of course. God’s Word says that we should present to Him our petitions, but also with thanksgiving. For what reason have we come to Jesus? Just to file petitions?
God is worthy of worship and praise.  We were created for the praise of His glory. Try today to leave a break in petitions and dedicate the day in worship and praise to our Father.

Pray with us:
Father, I adore you for who you are. I praise you for everything you've done.
Thank you for sending Jesus, without whom we could not have access to eternal life through his sacrifice on the cross.
You are worthy of my praise and my worship regardless of any afflictions in this world that I am going through.
I have tasted and seen that you are good!  Receive my praise and my gratitude.
In Jesus’ name. Amen!
