Advent Reflections

During the Advent, Gafcon will be posting short reflections based on a verse from the Bible to celebrate this season which is so significant for all of us who confess our faith in Christ Jesus. Follow us and share these messages in your churches.
Ezekiel 36: 26. I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.
On this second Sunday of Advent, our reflection will be on the words of another great prophet: Ezekiel.
Here we find a glorious promise and a pleasant hope. A new spirit and a new heart, provided by God himself, who is sovereign, loving, just, gracious, and faithful. On this second Sunday of this short series, we can rejoice in knowing that God has the "Yes" and the "Amen" within Him. His promises and plans are not frustrated, so we can trust and give thanks. In a hopeless world with closed hearts, we trust that the power of God can do something new and bring a magnificent transformation in lives.
Pray with us
Lord, our God and our Father, how good it is to rest in Your loving arms and your sovereign purposes. How good it is to be guided by Your right hand. We praise Your name for who You are and for Your promises, for we know that the one who promises is faithful to fulfil it. In the precious name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
