Communique:

Gathering Authentic Anglicans

Written:

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Gafcon,

As we prepare to celebrate Gafcon Sunday on June 29, we’re devoting the next four weeks to consider what Gafcon does.

Our first task is to gather authentic Anglicans.

In 2008 we gathered in Jerusalem for a conference called GAFCON, which became a movement that’s renewing our Anglican Communion.

Yet, though we are more than conferences, gathering remains central.

Firstly, we gather authentic Anglicans by convening conferences.

We do this in specialised conferences like ‘G26′ next March in Nigeria, as well as our five-year assemblies, like we’re planning now for 2028.

Secondly, we gather authentic Anglicans by connecting members.

We engage with each other through social networks, emails, online discussions, and our website, plus face-to-face meetings and events.

Thirdly, we gather authentic Anglicans by networking ministries.

Our global communities of practice share skills and strategies amongst practitioners in specialised ministries across contexts and cultures.

Fourthly, we gather authentic Anglicans by promoting prayer.

We distribute regular prayer points to our global family, so we can unite in prayer and thanksgiving, as we worship in our churches and homes.

Gafcon needs your support to help us gather authentic Anglicans.

This is why we are so thankful for your prayers and financial gifts!

On June 29, will your church celebrate Gafcon Sunday by praying the Gafcon Collect, playing a video, and receiving a special offering for us?

May the Lord strengthen you to serve him faithfully for his glory.

Yours in Christ,

Bishop Paul Donison,
General Secretary, Gafcon

PS: Will you pray the Gafcon Collect on June 29 in your church?
